A Hyde School education starts with asking students to look at their highest expectations of themselves by answering these questions:

• Who are you?
• Where are you going in your life?
• What do you need to do to get there?

While many of the aspects of Hyde look very traditional—college preparatory academics, mandatory athletics, community service, strong teacher commitment—the core of Hyde goes much deeper than the traditional model, which focuses on achievement first.

We start with who you are. What do you care about? What are you willing to do in order to go after that highest vision for yourself?
In other words, in the long haul of life, who you are matters more than what you can do.

When students walk out through Hyde’s gates after graduation, the most important quality they carry with them is a set of “go-to” principles: Courage, Integrity, Leadership, Curiosity and Concern. Students learn how to test themselves against these principles, having a sense of what they believe and what values are important to them.

Today, Hyde School values effort over achievement and attitude over aptitude. Instead of building a curriculum around five subjects, Hyde focuses on five words: Courage, Integrity, Leadership, Curiosity, and Concern.

Academic Onward

• An Individualize focus on English, Spanish, math, history and science
• Improve current year course averages
• Gain new or make up course credits
• Develop & improve learning strategies

Starting date: June 4-30, 2018 in Bath, Maine

Tuition: $1,500/week (+$250 bank/bookstore)

 

Adventure Awaits!

• Hiking mountains in the Bigelow Range
• Performing Arts
• Zip Line Challenge
• community service

Starting date:  July 2-29, 2018 in Bath, Maine

Tuition: $5,000 per week

Teens ages:  13-18

 

Adventure in the Maine Wilderness

• Experience-based learning
• Action-oriented learning
• Hiking, canoeing, kayaking
• Multi-day expeditions.

Starting date:  July 29- August 29, 2018 in Bath, Maine

Tuition: $150 per day

Teens ages:  13-18

 

Academic Bridge

• Rigorous University preparation

• Cultural Excursions
